My Eastern Palace bundle arrived on Friday but it was such a busy weekend that I only finally had time to open it up late last night. Wow is it ever beautiful! The DSP is really nice and there are two gold foiled sheets. There are 3 of the 5 new In-Colour ink pads and I'm LOVING the Lemon-Lime Twist colour. I think my favourite thing is the scripty word stamps in the stamp set; life is beautiful is such a sweet sentiment.
This little note card is 3 1/2x3 1/2 and uses one of the bright DSP sheets and Tranquil Tide cardstock.
I am going to have so much fun with this set! Stay tuned for details about an upcoming class with this bundle. You will be able to order it as a bundle starting May 1st and then it will be available as separate items in the new Annual Catalog starting June 1st.

And another birthday!
I think this will be the last birthday card that I post for a little while. I'm just about birthday'd out for now. This was a pretty special birthday card for a pretty special young lady. Sadly my husband and toddler were sick over the weekend so I couldn't deliver it in person.
This was my first attempt at the "Bokeh" technique and I'm really happy with the result. This is such a beautiful, soft look that can work with many occasions. I added some Wink of Stella to a few of the circles to add a bit of shimmer, but I discovered that it really doesn't work well with the white craft ink. I don't think I would do it again.
For now I have a product list for you, but stay tuned for a tutorial soon.

Birthdays!!!!!
It seems like I have been making birthday cards for the entire month of March. There are so many family birthdays in March and April that I don't think I have even put down my fast fuse the entire time. (other than having to go to the dreaded day job, hahaha!) The first one had to go to Saskatchewan for the 13th, followed by the 18th, two on the 20th, and then the 31st! April starts with the 3rd and two on the 7th! WOW! With that many cards to make, I turned to my best source of ideas, Pinterest. Thanks to all the fabulous designers who post their cards every day.
This past weekend we celebrated my oldest son's 22nd birthday and my youngest son's 4th birthday all together. It was a small affair with only my husband and I, and a whole bunch of young adults and a toddler! We had dinner at a pub that we used to go to in the days before our youngest was born. It was never an elegant place but the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Well in the last 5 years, unbeknownst to us, it has become a bit of a dive bar! My 4 year old got to see his first patron being removed from a pub at only 5 pm! Oh my! But the food is still good and the prices right. The boys favourite "cardiac burger" is still on the menu. Next time we should probably only take the older ones. LOL.

One of the birthdays this week is my Grandfather. He's turning 96!! WOW! This needed a pretty special card, and it needed to be in Ukrainian. I don't have any Ukrainian stamps so I printed the sentiments from my computer on to the cardstock before cutting and stamping it. My Mother liked it so much that she didn't want to give it away! I guess I will have ti make her another one to keep. I guess I should start searching for some Ukrainian birthday stamps. Hmm.... might have to be my next project. As if I have time for that, haha.

Manic Monday. On Tuesday
The main reason I started using these wonderful Stampin'Up products was to make lunch box cards for my Toddler who started school in September. He asked me to make him a card. I of course went totally overboard and decided to make a card for him every day! Phew. It's not easy making a different card every day and trying to keep them uplifting or inspirational. I realized that I would need many more stamp sets to maintain variety! Haha! That's when I decided to sign up for the discount on my own products, and to share some creativity with others.
I try to get all 5 cards for the week done by Sunday night. (in between all the other things I need to do on my 2 measly days off!) Sometimes this is easy if the creative juices are flowing. Sometimes I spend hours on Pinterest for ideas. This weekend was somewhere in between. I had a couple of new sets to play with so that was a good thing. I knew that whatever I made with them wasn't going to be the same as anything he has already seen! The hot air balloons in the Lift me Up bundle seem to have been my favourite this time. Here are the cards I made for this week:
I used the Nailed It, No Bones About It, and Reverse Words stamp sets, as well as the Lift Me Up bundle, various ink and cardstock colours to use up bits and scraps, and the stitched shapes framelets.

Weekend Challenge
This weekend I was challenged to find an online challenge forum and make and post a card for it. The one I have chosen this time is from Freshly Made Sketches.
The challenge is to interpret the sketch and keep it clean and fresh. Not sure if i really nailed the clean part but I really like how this card turned out. I love the "Let's Taco 'Bout How Awesome You Are" sentiment in the Tasty Trucks stamp set. The truck is so much fun! (and I'm getting pretty good at fussy cutting it out!) Purchasing the products to make this card will earn the Tasty Trucks stamp set for FREE from the Sale-a-Bration catalog
This weeks sketch is FMS276
